bibbe with her father, al hansen

bibbe hansen is beck’s mom, fluxus artist al hansen’s daughter, and one of the youngest “superstars” to be involved with warhol’s factory.. at the age of thirteen she appeared in warhol’s prison with edie sedgwick and generally just badassed herself around manhattan with people like janet kerouac.. (jack’s daughter, who he pretty much refused to acknowledge until a paternity test when she was 9 forced him to pay something like $52 a month to support her.. i know this is the olden days but he still only saw her like twice her whole life..)

anyway, in ’64 janet and bibbe formed a band with charlotte rosenthal called the whippets and here are the only two songs i could find..

the whippets- “go go go with ringo”

the whippets- “i want to talk to you”

awesome i want more.. also awesome is this interview she did with index magazine, spilling some deats on her life, and beck, and how she stole her current husband away from his family in chicago when he was only fifteen.. i tried to do the math, i think she was 23? she was older..

she has more at her website, the interview with rebel is pretty good.. my personal highlight being that her dad was fired from pratt for writing “fuck god” on the wall during one of his happenings.. typical..
